Director's Message
Welcome to your library. Notice I said YOUR library. That's because the Daugherty Library belongs to you the taxpayer. In these troubling economical times no one likes to hear the word tax. The small amount of tax money that you pay towards YOUR public library is the best value that you receive. Just using YOUR public library a couple of times gets you more than what you have paid in taxes. The average cost of a hardback novel is $25.00. To buy a movie is $20.00. A paperback novel now cost the consumer $9.00... I can go on and on about the high cost of materials and not even bring up what it cost to have a computer with internet at home.
Stop and think about what YOUR public library provides for you and be happy in the fact that it is such a great value. We're always glad to hear your suggestions and opinions and please come in and see us often.
