Your Library Card

Document Actions

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Loan Periods

2 week checkout, 2 renewals allowed if no other holds:
    Books
    Magazines
    Audiobooks (CD and cassette)
    Kits
   

3 Day checkout, NO renewals allowed:
    DVDs
    Videos (VHS)

 

Limits

Five (5) movies may be checked out at one time, per library card.

 

Fines and Fees

Overdue book fines are $.10 per item per day.

Overdue DVD/VHS fines are $1.00 per item per day.

If your account has over $2.00 in charges, you will not be allowed to check out any Library items or use the internet computers until the account is paid.

 

Lost/Damaged Items

You will be charged the original cost of the item plus a $2.00 processing fee.

If you are interested in replacing the item with a new copy please talk to the Library Director. You will still be responsible for the $2.00 processing fee.

 

Who can get a card

The Library is supported by real estate taxes. Residents who live within the Library District's boundaries receive a free library card. Simply bring in appropriate ID (see list below) to receive a card good for 3 years. Children age 3 to 17 may also get a library card. The second replacement card will cost $2.00 and any additonals cards thereafter will cost $5.00.

FOR ADULTS

Two items are required. One picture ID and one item with current address. If your picture ID also has your current address, then the second item only needs to have your first and last name.

Picture ID --- driver's license, state ID card, school ID card, passport. For other, please call ahead to ensure it will be acceptable.

Current address --- driver's license, state ID card, passport, bill, checkbook, piece of mail delivered by post office (other than junk mail). For other, please call ahead to ensure it will be acceptable.

FOR CHILDREN

Children ages 3 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with the above two forms of ID or a picture ID and a current library card. The parent or legal guardian will also be signing to accept financial responsibility for all items checked out on the child's library card.

Non-Resident cards
Those not in the Library District's boundaries may pay an annual fee to receive Library Services. The fee is $70.00 .

Non-Resident library cards are valid for one year. Everyone in the family may obtain their own library card. Non-Resident library cards may be used at all Lewis & Clark Library System public libraries.

Please note: state law requires that a non-resident library card be purchased at a public library in the same school district as the residence OR at a public library closer to the residence than those in the same school district
